The leadership program for ninth grade students begins with our trip to Merrowvista Camp in Tuftonboro, New Hampshire. This overnight trip is scheduled early in the fall term: Monday, September 21 through Wednesday, September 23.
Scheduling Note: We realize that this year's retreat departure overlaps with Yom Kippur, and we sincerely apologize for this scheduling conflict. We want to ensure all students can fully observe the holiday with their families, and we will arrange transportation so that students can seamlessly join the group after Yom Kippur concludes.
If your student will be impacted by this schedule, please contact Courtney Sargent at csargent@fayschool.org so we can coordinate their travel details.
Program Overview:
The Merrowvista class trip will be facilitated by American Youth Foundation staff members and 贝博体育app faculty. The trip consists of leadership skill-building activities, trust formation experiences, and low- and high-element ropes course team challenges. For over a decade, this leadership experience has been an important element of 贝博体育app's ninth grade program: it is a powerful bonding experience and marks the beginning of their ninth grade at 贝博体育app. The trip will be led by 身心健康 Department Chair Heidi Qua and Ninth Grade Class Dean Courtney Sargent.
Students will receive more information during the first days of school.
寄宿学校 students should make sure to bring a sleeping bag with them when they come to 贝博体育app. Ninth graders will be using the sleeping bags again for the end-of-year trip.
